Appliance recommendations

Hi there - I'm getting a new kitchen very soon :j and am looking to buy the following built-in/integrated appliances:

- fridge freezer (probably 70% fridge)
- dishwasher (standard size)
- single fan oven
- combination oven/microwave
- induction hob

I'm wanting these to all be as economical to run as possible, but other than that, I'm hoping to get some recommendations for any of the above. I'm not quite sure where to start.

TIA

I looked on https://www.appliancesonline.co.uk for all my integrated appliances- very good prices and a very easy website to navigate around

I got my new appliances from appliancesonline.co.uk as well.

Two hour delivery slot, text message on day to confirm, and arrived when they said they would.

Their website gives quite a bit of information about each appliance, with plenty of customer reviews.

I'd go for the best makes you can afford.

One more vote for appliances online.

Fridge they delivered had scratches. They replaced it with another piece the next day!

Just a teeny word of warning - integrated appliances tend to cost more and have fewer options. I'm only posting this because I recently had both my integrated washer/dryer AND dishwasher die within days of each other. When looking to replace them I realised that I could get much better non-integrated machines a lot cheaper. When I was having my lovely new kitchen built I wanted integrated, but when replacing them I wanted function and value which I couldn't get buying integrated. Fortunately my kitchen is mainly white so non-integrated fit in just fine. In future I will always have a white kitchen.

My fridge-freezer is also on its last legs (wow, I bought some crappy appliances!) and I'm very happy that I didn't go for integrated for that as well.

The original washer/dryer and dishwasher were bought because they were both cheap and integrated. My new washing machine (didn't use the dryer enough to bother) and dishwasher are Bosch and, so far, work better and will hopefully last a lot longer than the cheap integrated.

(And I've now typed the word integrated so much that no longer looks like a real word!)

If you buy from http://www.bootskitchenappliances.com/ they actually use appliancesonline, but I found them cheaper.

Or you could visit your local appliance/kitchen retailer and receive a pleasant surprise with the prices and service they can offer, support an independent and keep the money local.

And then we sit and moan when the high street is either derelict or full or banks, mobile phone, betting and pawn shops.

    OP's question-
Go with integrated to get a good look and buy good quality appliances once rather than cheap tat what WILL go wrong. Buy the kitchen you want rather than one that suits white freestanding appliances.

Depending on your budget, you wont go far wrong with BOsch/Neff/Siemens at the mid-midpremium price and Miele if your budget is higher.

I rate Bosch & Siemens appliances. My old house had Bosch & never went wrong in the 12 years of use. I have a couple free-standing Semens items - both makes very reliable.

Have now moved - placed an order with local independant kitchen retailer (Bosch dealer). Their integrated appliances are cheaper than I could source on-line. For example - the oven is £180 cheaper.

Ryder72 beat me to it. If you are having a new kitchen then please go to local independent kitchen specialists for the appliances as well as the kitchen. If they are doing their job properly you will find their prices on decent makes of appliances better than you can find anywhere online.

The problem is that independent kitchen specialists are perceived to be expensive. Sure there are some that do very expensive kitchens, but that is where they find their market it is, but the vast majority will design you a kitchen better than the sheds, have a lot more choice for you to choose from, take far greater care over your project and ultimately be very reasonably priced.

Like you I kitted out with all new appliances 6 years ago. I decided on Meile and they've all worked brilliantly. But the cost for extended warranty was astronomical. They don't offer a package price for multiple products. I didn't buy the extended warranties and with the money I "saved" I could buy a new machine two or three times over if anything goes wrong.

The only thing I didn't buy was the induction hob as it was ugly. I went for Smeg. Love the design but don't like induction. It spurts energy on & off so you can't smoothly simmer something and you have to stand by the hob all the time to adjust otherwise the pot boils over.

Edit - oh I checked prices online and went to my local independent retailer who matched the best price and gave excellent service, free delivery, fitted my new appliances and took the old ones away.

Another one who buys all his white goods and recommends to his family our local Euronics Centre.

Cheaper than the net, extra warranties available FOC, friendly staff, someone to deal with face to face, great knowledge and service.

With the amount of product you want to buy, you should be able to get a decent discount off them.

Why wait in all day/week, for each one to arrive at different times, when you can get all of them delivered at the same time, most likely cheaper and have them fitted proffesionaly on the same day?

    I have

    Bosch intergrated DW
    Zanussi FS washer
    Beko FS T dryer
    Dewoo American FF
    Indesit induction hob
    Hotpoint single oven.

All good quality, had no issues in over 3 years, all bought from Euronics showroom, all delivered and fitted free and old appliances taken away.

    www.euronics.co.uk for local shop.
