Nationwide cancels mortgage???

Options
hi we are using our right to buy a council house getting a 56% discount. we phoned nationwide and got the aip. the valuer sent there price out and we were happy so, phoned nationwide and finished the full application. was told had the mortgage as we met all the criteria and could afford the payments. paid the £99 fee and there valuer came out done his thing and charged us £210 which was paid. informed nationwide who our solicitors were and they approved them so paid them there upfront fee. suddenly received an email from nationwide saying .......
Your mortgage application has been cancelled as requested

phoned customer services who said yes it had but were
unable to give me a reason as the people dealing
with it were off till monday. i'm thinking this is a
mistake on the part of nationwide as further down the
email they say..........................................

Please contact us urgently if you wish to resume the application..

getting a bit worried. any advice would be nice.....

thanks in advance

Well. this looks like Nationwide have not themselves decided to cancel. So keep yer hair on till Monday (hard, I know) and contact them to resume the application.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

    Hi

I got this text last week. We were still awaiting our DIP and both myself and my husband got exactly the same text. I rang our advisor who told us that it was an error. Someone had keyed one of our names in wrong and the system had thrown the whole process out. Hopefully, this is what's happened in your case.

    Good luck.

I am hoping to do the right to buy next year via Nationwide, did you put down a deposit or did you use your discount towards this?

they said the 56% we were getting off would be more that enough so they didn't want a deposit.

Really? Cancelled application and no idea why. Surely this would be classed as anything but easy?

If a case of mine was cancelled I would be on to the lender pronto, as would any other broker. My client certainly wouldn't be chasing an answer and worrying.

One of the many benefits of a broker.

People may well prefer to go direct. If it is for cost then fair enough but there are many cases when a broker can be invaluable.
