are you seriously telling me you don't know how to spell "tale"?
Other than a typo, I imagine OP understands the very basics of how to use a capital letter when starting a sentence. :rotfl:

Also potential buyers were being put off by something and we couldn't work out what it was.

Does she have any recourse for the fact that they clearly obstructed the sale of the property, in fact utterly sabotaged it

We are currently renting but in the process of buying. The landlord won't make basic repairs. We don't want to antagonize the LL by refusing viewings, but can't we tell prospective tenants about how bad the LL is regarding repairs?

You can say what you like to any prospective tenants, if you get the chance, but that's going to antagonise the LL just as much I would have thought!

Don't give notice until you have exchanged. After that it does not matter too much about antagonising the LL if your deposit is protected ...
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Er, actually no I'm not telling 'you' anything of the sort. I do know how to spell 'tale'.

How rude and unnecessary. A perfectly relevant post by me, followed by a factious response.

No offence but people not being able to spell properly is becoming a major problem in the UK as the majority of the time it is simply laziness.

If you can't be bothered to spell things properly, then you can't expect other people to be bothered in writing a real response.

The rest of the earlier posts give you the answers you are looking for.

Have you had an 'irony' bypass? I only ask because your grammar might need an adjustment.

I realise that the spelling error in the title of this thread was a rudimentary mistake and one I normally wouldn't make (I was tired and in a hurry and obviously not really thinking; unfortunately the editing option does not allow for alterations to the title of a thread, otherwise I would have corrected it - and do please note that I was aware of the error before anyone else pointed it out). I was under the (mistaken) assumption that other members would be as tolerant and understanding as I am. But I must remember not to judge others by my own standards!!

I have a severely dyslexic son who is very bright but his spelling is atrocious; God forbid that he should ever come across someone as ignorant and intolerant as you. However, his grammatical ability is far superior to yours; perhaps you should re-read your post and blush over the irony of your response.

Thankfully the world does have nice people in it. I'd much rather be a kind illiterate than an intolerant bigot.

  • Don't let it get to you, there are some people who seem to like having a go at posters -even newbies- I doubt they would say it to your face. It sounds like your mum was trying her best. Sometimes it works out ok to maket a house for sale while at the same time renting but as you have found it is much better to market it empty.

    Full of angst,

The Internet is full of bitter, angry, twisted, small-minded people who take any opportunity to attack others while feeling invulnerable behind their keyboards. Accept this as fact and try not to let them bother you.

Take the good words from the few reasonable people commenting and ignore the rest.

And, Full of angst, thank you very much for your superb quotation:

I'd much rather be a kind illiterate than an intolerant bigot.

To my shame,I am going to purloin this and use it as though I had such linguistic ability!
