Beading makes my expensive oak flooring look awful!

Oh no! I've ruined it!
I got new solid oak flooring upstairs and it looked awesome yesterday. The beading went it today and it looks yukkk! I am very disappointed and feeling low to the point of depression because of it.
upstairs has been plastered, painted and ready to move in...(with beading)
Downstairs flooring will be laid end of next week. It has just been plastered.
Will I be able to remove the skirting and do the flooring without the nasty beading (without needing to replaster) ?
Beading should be banned, it shouldn't be sold at all. Its disgusting! It's the lowest point of all the ups and downs I've had while refurbishing my house. I'm seriously depressed. Can someone help? No, I'm not going to ask the flooring guy. He suggested beading.

When you say beading do you mean the top carved part of the skirting board or the edging put around the bottom of the skirting board to hide the expansion gap between the solid oak floor and the skirting?0

Oh dear
So the skirting boards weren't removed first and then refitted to hide the expansion gap? A valuable lesson there . . . . . .

Can I rectify it now? Will it be possible to remove the fitted beading, remove the skirting board and then refit the skirting board? There is more to life than increasing its speed.0

Depends how your skirting is attached to the wall, when me & my dad removed some from my house to dryline the lounge, getting the skirting boards off was hard work! If you can see screws that attach the skirting boards to the wall then maybe, but if theyre glued on or nailed on they might be more hard work. Are the skirtings new on? could you ask how they are attached?0

:(I assume you have quarter round beading?
If you look in most of the sheds you can find lots of different mouldings, all wood, and I'm sure you will find one thats more suitable that is flatter and can be stained to match the flooring and just remove the beading to save removing skirting;)
If you even replace the skirting the edges of the flooring probably wont be covered by new skirting;)Signature removed0 -
Your renovation sounds rushed and seriously unorganised!!
Leave the skirts on down and get the floor layer to undercut the skirtings
Upper is too late now, other than remov skirtings and relay flooring as it will be too shortHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
If you have matched it to the floor rather than the skirting, then that is where your problem lies! Having had beading that matches the flooring in the past, it does not look very good. I now have some very nice white moulded beading to cover the edge of my flooring, and I think it gives the skirting a quite a nice finish. It just makes it look like my skirting is fancier.0

You could try removing the beading and pushing cork into the expansion gap.0

I had the same problem. The beading just looked wrong because I couldn't match the exact colour to the flooring.
When I redecorated, as I painted the skirting board, I also painted the beading with the same paint.
Now the beading looks like it is part of an elaborately moulded skirting and no longer looks like something that's been tacked on to hide the edge of the flooring.0 -
Most of my downstairs has a good laminate under floorboards but there are parts where they have used beading but it blends in ie same colour as the laminate. In my hallway the beading is painted white0
