Holiday cancellation - voucher refund?

Hi,

I booked a holiday in August with Thomson holidays and paid most of the balance in vouchers.

As a mature student just about to start my final year of a degree, and due to a change in my finances, I now cannot afford to go away.

I will lose the deposit, but I've been told by Thomson that as I paid in vouchers I will get vouchers back.

As I won't be using the vouchers cash would be much better for me. Does anyone know if I would be able to get them to refund me in cash (or bank transfer or whatever)?

I'm going in to cancel tomorrow and want to know if its possible. I don't want to get into an argument with them about it, but would like to know where I stand.

Thanks for any advice

I would say that they will probably insist that you will get vouchers back. I know you aren't supposed to but you could probably sell them on ebay.
