Personally I think until you are ready to be a family i.e. to share financial, household responsibility and be the "Daddy" so to speak you shouldn't be moving in. Sounds harsh I know but if the financial sacrifice is the main concern you have then you aren't ready to take on a family. Its not fair to the mother or child.
While you still see things as "her's" or "mine" you are better off having your own space and letting the baby have the stability of a parent who wouldn't have to consider whether she wants to sacrifice some luxuries in order to be there.
