Barclays contacted me out of the blue

Hi all,
A long time ago i had a loan with Barclays and to cut a long story short I was told that if i dont take PPI i wont get the loan. So i have always felt i would have a strong case to reclaim, but have never done anything about it. Mainly because it was so long ago roughly 8 years, and i have no details, account numbers, policy numbers etc.
But, the other day i received a letter from the PPI tracing department at barclays telling me that i need to confirm my new address and then get in contact.
So, i did this, and now have the complaint form to complete. The sticking point for me is, i dont remember anything about the loan, not even the exact amount. But i specifically remember being told that i have to have the PPI otherwise they woundlt give it me. I remember this because with all my loans i made a point of ensuring I wasnt paying for this insurance because i was being a tight !!!
Are there any guides on what to write in the complaint form? i.e. things to avoid saying! Because im really concious that writing "i dont remember anything apart from the blatant miss-selling" is going to look a little fishy to say the least!
Any help much appreciated!

The truth is always the best policy and won't look at all "fishy".Benson-112 wrote: »im really concious that writing "i dont remember anything apart from the blatant miss-selling" is going to look a little fishy to say the least!0 -

Telling lies or guessing answers can make it look even more suspicious if they find details on file which differ from what you are saying. Hence it is best to say if you cant remember something rather than risk getting caught out.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
