Cancelled our Sky subscription ages ago, but thought we's quite like it for the next month to take in the Ryder Cup and Dunhill golf. Phoned them up yesterday and listened to music and messages for 16 minutes then got cut off. Tried this another 3 times, and the same thing happened. Eventually used the main switchboard number and they put me through and was finally answered in 4 minutes. Being a MSE I used 18866 to call them and off course checked the geographic number from saynoto0870. But had I not done this the 5 calls would have cost me £6.80 instead of 5p. I think it's scandalous that they get away with it, I feel sorry for the poor folk who haven't discovered this web site and pay that for a call.
I used the same switchboard route today when I phoned up to give them the 30 days notice to cancel, I think I threw the guy off his track when he asked how I was and I replied "Wonderful" I then had to laugh when the guy asked why I wanted to cancel, I told him I only wanted it for the month. He was just about to go into his sales pitch of choosing a lower package and I said no I'm really not interested in any of your offers I just want to cancel and his reply was "I wasn't going to offer you anything" then "so you're only using our service!" in a tone that sounded like I shouldn't be doing it. I paid £41 for the privilege yesterday so of couse I'm going to use it Doh, Some people.

lol, oh they hate it when u try to leave...I agree with what u say about these 0870 numbers, i always try to look for an alternative, but if i cant i always try to ring after 6pm as most places/call centres are now open 24/7.
