I have heard people talk about this company on here and how it holds data on each person.
Can you get access to this information, where do you get it from and how much does it cost? (presuming that I can have it).
Thanks

Thanks that was very quick:-)
Is there anything I should know about applying for the file, will it cause any problems for me if I do?
I am just applying out of curiosity really, nothing else.0 -

Should not cause any problems for you at all.
It would just be a request under the data protection act.
The only info it will hold is a list of information you've supplied to potential lenders in credit applications over the last 6 years.

Is there any benefit over a normal (£2) credit search then?0

Its totally different to a search with the 3 main credit reference agencies.
It simply looks for inconsistencies in credit applications you have made.
Potential lenders will search one of more of the 3 main agencies, then they also share certain facts from your application with national hunter, who may flag up if there are concerning inconsistencies compared to what you have told previous lenders you've applied to. Its explained on their site.
There isn't normally any reason to check the data, its just a factual list of info you have provided, debt collectors etc don't see and can't affect the info, and no potential lender should make a lending decision based just on the NH database.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Have you ever committed fraud in applying for a financial product such as mortgage?
In simple terms lied on the application form.
If not, then unlikely that there's any entries on the database relating to you.0 -

No I have never committed fraud or lied on an application.
Like I said just interested in what information is held.
Thanks all for the information0
