Barclaycard Freedom Application

Hello.

I applied for this card, went through the complete application. It then asked me to agree terms etc and then it would go off and give me a decision etc within a couple of minutes.

So off it went for a minute or so to check and then came back with 'create a passcode, memorable word etc for 'mybarclaycard', along with a note that stated "when you click continue you will be able to view your credit limit, apr etc etc", so I assume I was accepted.

So I clicked continue and it gave a message of "we'll let you know in 5 days!"

Is this normal for Barclays? I would've assumed if unsuccessful it would've told me so after the check had been done.

It just means they've had to refer it to underwriting who will review your application manually and make a human decision.

They should email you letting you know your credit limit within a week if you're accepted.

Just wondered why after it went off and did its checks, it then came back asking me to setup 'mybarclaycard'
