Best way to clean shower door/walls?

Our large double shower cubicle has a lot of glass on the two walls & door & which gets very grimy with a white reside. My wife has tried a number of different cleaning products all saying "made for the job" but none really work that well. She is looking at steam cleaners but not sure if they would be a waste of money.

Probably a waste of money. We found the best thing is one of the cleaners that you spray on weekly or after every use. This prevents the build up of scum and oils. Something like "Wet and Forget".
You'd need to get it clean first though which will probably involve a lot of elbow grease. Try washing up liquid and vinegar.0 -
Cillit Bang do a grim and lime that's quite good but if you're in a hard water area (like I am) it's par for the course to have white limescale marks. I squeegy after every shower but I still have a cloudy shower door."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Sugar soap or bleach and one of those magic sponges from the pound shop.0

We've been using a K'archer window vac on our glass shower screen after every shower, and it's still sparkling. Only takes a minute or two.0

I would use Limelite with a exfoliating glove u can get them in £1 shop.Get all grim off then after a shower use a squeegee window cleaner .No need to use Limelite again
I have really hard water as being in the Chilterns its chalky and my shower is about 3 years old and glass is as new.
Just to add i have a Karcher window cleaner and clean my tiles in the bathroom using that as its excellent and very quick .0 -
Have a bath before you use the shower.0

A wipe over of Viakal round my bath removes the white streaks from lime, no reason it wouldnt work on glass. It says its for large bathroom surfaces.0

I've always cleaned my shower cubical with plain old vinegar & never had any problems with scale or water marks on the glass.
I'm careful to use a squeegy on the glass as soon as I've finished showering & then buff up the chrome parts of the shower & this has always ensured that my shower looks as good as the day it was installed. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
