Scottish Power DD doubled and they won't lower it

1) Read and fully understand your rights here. Your bank must recall the DD and credit your account if the rules have not been adhered to by SP.
2) Negotiate an alternative payment method with them that will not adversely affect your fixed rate tariff with them.0 -
Thank you all for taking the time to reply about this.
To answer a few questions, I cannot switch away (yet) because I'm tied into a fixed rate until next year. Whether or not I chose to do that will be assessed nearer the time but this is certainly a very large black mark against Scottish Power in my book. Not that they seem to care.
I have had another written reply again stating that the DD is set to the original figure but since they've already been "mistaken" about this, I'm somewhat doubtful. This is confirmed by the on-line account still showing the higher figure for DD amount. So I'm left with two problems:
1) How to get my £100 back
2) What payment method to set up since Scottish Power clearly cannot be trusted with direct debits.
You were told last Friday how to obtain a full and immediate refund from your bank. Why haven't you followed that advice?
Well done to DirectDebacle for having the patience with you to reiterate that same information again today.0
