Sorry if this is the wrong board
I'm wondering if theres any sites that do the search for you from "x" amount of companies, similar to the confused.com one for car insurance. ?
My home insurance is due for renewal soon and would like to find an easy & quicker way than having to go through the telephone book and web
Thanks

I would think that a broker, like the AA will do that, as they do for car insce.
From personal experience, I found Esure the cheapest. You won't find them through a broker, you need to go direct.
If the saving you can make by having buildings and contents combined isnt very much then consider having seperate polices. The reason i say this is that, if you make a claim on say your contents, on a combined policy you've lost no claims discount on the whole lot, but on seperate policies you've only lost it on the contents policy, bot the buildings. If it's not too expensive, you could have both these policies with the same company. Otherwise, in say a fire claim, you could get each denying that they cover certain things, like re-papering for example. If they are with the same company, you just tell them to sort it out amongst themselves!*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
