ASDA carparking

I parked in a disabled bay in asda carpark in inverness.
I do not have a blue badge but my husband has recently had a knee replacement operation and has to have the car door open fully to get in and out of the car, which is not possible in an ordinary car parking space.
I got a ticket from smart parking ltd. What should I do

Get over to the Parking sub-forum (link at top of Motoring forum page) - you'll get proper advice there.

Ignoring it is BAD advice if the offence was in England or Wales.

Whilst i sympathise regarding your husband,i am a blue badge holder and often have to park in normal spaces because non badge holders use the disabled spaces.Could you not drop him at the door and park up?.

Why is it? These tickets have been proven to be unenforceable time and time again

    It's a good point ^^

But then i'm sure people have gone to park in parent/child spaces and found them full of disabled badge holders.
The same is true for motorcycle parking, one disabled badge holder parking in 2 MC spaces and as a result, bikes parking in normal sized spaces.
And finally Eastern Europeans and ethnic minorities, parking wherever they like because often there's no way to trace the cars owner and when approached they just say "sorry no English".

These days everyone is as bad as each other, I have no sympathy for any side. I park down the far end of the carpark, away from all the idiots and I walk because that's what my legs are for.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but please can anyone enlighten me as to what the correct procedure is for these "scam" tickets ? And what is this Popla that I keep seeing people mention ?

I know the advice always used to be just ignore the so-called "fine" and all the letters that follow. Is this still true ? I'm in Scotland if it makes any difference ?

I don't disagree. But in England/Wales the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 provides a mechanism that can help parking companies if people simply ignore any correspondence. And some parking companies are becoming more militant and ACTUALLY raising small claims court actions.

But if you follow the recommended approach (see the parking forum) then it is very easy to beat the parking companies for very little effort, and they actually pay for the privilege of cancelling the invoice (ticket). ;)

    What "offence"
what on earth are you talking about ?
The OP has not committed any offence .

It is a invoice for a parking charge, a private contractual matter.
There is not and never has been any type of offence involved.
    Be happy...;)
