Hi
I am looking to buy one of the above consoles for our sons b/day,the problem is that I am a PSP virgin and know naff all about them.My queries are.
I am looking at a new Japanese version with firmware 1.5 including a 2gb memory (from an e-bay powerseller 100% pos feedback). I assume there are other firmware versions,is 1.5 good enough or is it an old version.
Are there any implications regarding movies , games and charging with the Japanese version.
I know that the psp can connect to a pc and that there are various sizes of memory sticks available. Is 2gb sufficient and can pc connection be made with this version.
Please can any responses be made in a jargon free manner suitable enough for a thicko like me to understand.

You may find that buying from Japan some games and movies released in the UK might not work.Don't listen to the bad things about Vista its the best :beer:

Games for the PSP are region free. UMD Movies are region-locked.
1.5 is an old firmware. Most new games will require this to be updated. There is a good reason for keeping the 1.5 firmware though as you can play old SNES/Megadrive games etc. with it, and emulate the newer firmware to play the newer games (more complex.)
