Though many folk will still be hooked on a bunch of unfortunate people trapped on an island, or Jack Bauer having another crap day, us Brits can still dish out a gem of a drama and ‘Life on Mars’ is just such a hit.

Mixing time travel with the best of old school police dramas like ‘The Sweeney’, ‘Life On Mars’ sees DCI Sam Tyler wake up after a severe car accident in 2007, only to be walking the meaner streets of Manchester – in 1973.

With the series drawing to a close back in April, it received plenty of attention, not only winning a BAFTA, but also an Emmy after its well appreciated arrival in the US. ‘Life on Mars’ was a cracking drama.
