Multiple Adresses on File - Applying for Card

in Credit cards
Hi all,
Ok, so I'm taking a trip abroad and would like to get the best deal on spending whilst out there (and I also do lots of buying online from foreign sites) so was thinking of getting the Halifax Clarity card as recommended here. I currently have a Barclaycard Platinum and Santander 123 card which I always pay off in full, but they're pretty lousy for foreign currency.
The problem is, when I was a student I never changed my bank and personal details from my parents' house, and still haven't as I'm working in different cities on placements until next year and the hassle of changing everything every 6 months is too much to handle! I've been in my new place for about 4 months now.
However, I changed the address on the Barclaycard to my current place as it was very easy to do online. It looks like this has been propagated to my credit report (through annualcreditreport) but the electoral roll hasn't. So, if I apply for the card putting my new address down as the primary address (and listing my parents' as the previous address) am I asking for trouble with a rejected applications and potential fraud markers? I leave mid July and don't want to have to go and pick it up from their house - by using their address - (negating any saving!) and I don't really want the hassle of chasing up address changes for then either...
Anyone been in a similar situation or know about this kinda thing?
Thanks!
Alastair

Yes, it's believed that having different active addresses is bad for applications. This is just one of many factors and doesn't mean that they'll necessarily reject you.0

You should try to keep everything at one address.
Just get your parents to post the card to you.0 -
Thanks guys! I tried applying this morning using their address but disappointingly they wouldn't let me have it! Even with what I think is a pretty decent credit report.
Probably because I just started at my current work about 8 months ago. Oh well, they probably figured they weren't going to make any money out of it too...0 -
In your situation I would put the address which ties to the electoral roll.
It's also better established in your case.
I have done this before and been successful so I don't think I have tripped National Hunter or anything like that.0 -
Just if anyone's interested:
After failing at getting the Halifax card using my original details I couldn't resist the rush of applying for the Capital One Aspire World card (and also Friday morning was going very slowly). I was successful and just got the online details for it via email and what is a pretty decent credit limit.
This is all at my original address (the one where most things are registered)
A heads up then - Capital One seemed to have a much more comprehensive application system, so I'd try that over the Halifax card first.
Here's hoping that it arrives before I head off though, otherwise I'm gonna have me a nice new bookmark for my return0
