As we're getting internet on planes now, and with 3D printers becoming cheaper, smaller and more practical, how long before we can print our own in-flight meals?

As a 3D printers uses layers of liquid, powder, paper or sheet material to build the model, I can't see any meal printed on one having much flavour or texture :whistle:

Were there not news reports recently about doing this for astronauts to allow trips to Mars & far planets? There was an example of how they could make a pizza. Didn't fancy it though.
