Trojan Backdoor Virus

I done something really silly today. I unwittingly sent an email to my work colleague that contained a virus. I received an email in my gmail account from a well known recruitment agency saying Ive been shortlisted for a job and to complete the job application form which was attached to the email. When I tried to open it, nothing happened, so I tried on my smartphone and still couldn't open the file. So I sent it to my work colleague's gmail address. She opened it, it was a zip file, but nothing came up again. Few hours later she had trouble opening programs on her computer, so decided to quick scan her computer with an anti virus, and it showed that a virus was found. So she done a full scan, which was only half way through by the time we left work, so I don't know the outcome yet, but it did show that 3 virus were found, all were Trojan Backdoor viruses.
We done a quick qoogle search and it showed this particular virus is a very bad one to have. So now Im at home stressing like mad that when I go in to work tomorrow the company server will have been compromised and this virus will wreak havoc. My boss has been trying to get rid of me anyway since I came back to work few weeks ago, and Im worried that I will now have given him good reason to sack me.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this particular virus, and if its as bad as google said?? Is there anything I can do to remove it?? Help please!!

It's upto the workplace to provide sufficient protection against infection, it may be completely unconnected with the email!!

Sorry no crystal ball so no one will recognise that virus name.
I would think all companies by now have av solutions on their mail systems that should gave picked it up.
I am surprised that the mail scanner did not detect it, if it did come through the mail system.
I would also not be surprised the the viruses/malware found on your colleagues PC were previously there. Just because a virus is there, does not mean to say it is running.
However what was bad, you left a PC on overnight which you knowingly may contain a back door, potentially exposing your whole organisation and clients. You could have removed it from the network (unplug the network cable) and do a scan, or switched the PC off and wait till tomorrow.where you can keep an eye on it.0 -
The company does have anti virus on all work computers, I couldn't open the attachment on my pc, so I don't understand why my colleague was able to on hers. When she started having issues after that on her pc, we both thought it might be because of it being a virus from the email.
I cant believe we didn't think about switching the computer off before we left, we both just assumed it would be better to let the antivirus complete the scan. I just hope tomorrow we will be able to get this sorted out, without major issue. I would be horrified if I exposed the company and our clients to potential hackers :eek:0
