Apcoa parking ticket and DRP

Hello all,
I have read some of the helpful threads on the topic but wanted to post a question as none seem to apply.
My mum who was visiting from NY borrowed my car and parked in an apcoa car park, she tried paying via credit card but her card was declined, seemingly because it was american. This happened two days in a row, so she got a parking charge notice.

I've been ignoring all the letters from them as advised on other threads but am now getting notices of intended court actions for both tickets from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd (not Roxburghe as the others say), which seems like a serious and legitimate debt recovery company. The ticket charges are now £155 each!

Can someone give me advice please? Do I continue to ignore and risk court action, do I write a letter saying I wasn't the driver and give them my mum's details in america?

Yes, keep on ignoring. You are well past any possibility of appealing, so best just to keep quiet and not stick your head above the parapet. Don't even consider replying with a lie; it could get difficult and embarassing for you. If and only if you get genuine court papers, come back and help will be provided.

See how often these debt collection letters are laughed at and ignored. I post as SchoolRunMum on pepipoo so see how quickly I was able to show that poster umpteen examples of the same old question being asked. I found those other links in about a minute as it's such a common scam letter chain!

ALL of which cases get the advice to IGNORE DRP and Zenith (legit, LOL?!).

But as you weren't the driver you could indeed write and say you were not and give the name and USA address of the driver. If you do so, send it to the PPC not to their scumbag debt collector. And keep a copy. As discussed here in this pepipoo thread:

I am wondering whether the advice provided in response to the message above (27/06/2013) is still accurate?

I was fined twice (May and July 2014) for parking outside the designated areas in the hospital carpark where I used to work. I payed £20 monthly for parking on the grounds but there was no parking available on both days, and I had to rush to a clinic.

Last month I received a letter by DRP Plus titled:
Demand for payment - unpaid
Parking Charge Notice £110.00
The creditor: APCOA Parking (UK) Ltd
I moved home recently and the letter states "… we strongly advice that you confirm with the DVLA that they hold the correct address for the registered keeper…". This section worried me in particular.

Today, I received a second letter:
Notice of intended court action
This letterrs threatens that if I do not pay by 26/02/2015, they will pass my file to the creditor's solicitor with a recommendation to commence court action against me.

Any advice re how to proceed would be very much appreciated.

Hi there,

Yes, I took the advice given and have ignored all notices, including so-called referrals to debt collectors and threats of court actions.. I've got a few - about 4-5 more after the first court referral notice, ignored all and they've eventually stopped coming! Been more than a year now since the last one. Based on my experience, I'd say ignore! Good luck!

Instead of dredging-up this thread, why not look at some of the current DRP threads that don't involve an overseas resident?

There are any amount of them!

Also post four of the Newbies Sticky - which always updated with the most current info.

Nonsense - you weren't fined.
No-one who receives a speculative invoice for parking on private land is 'fined.'

Read the newbies stickies THOROUGHLY and if you eventually receive GENUINE Court papers, or have other real questions after that thorough reading, come back, but start your own Thread.

I recently received a ticket for parking outside a bay. People using this railway car park have always used these unmarked bays. There are no lines to say not to. I bought and displayed a valid ticket. Can anyone help please
