What happened to kids half price?

All of the venues I have been looking at seem to only charge 50p less for kids than adults, and sometimes 2 year olds are classed as kids.
How can places justify almost the same price for a 2 year old as an adult? I though kids used to be half price:(

And if anyone can find places inBerkshire than do have kids half price, please post here
thanks:)

  • Know the feeling traveller. I have just been planning summer holiday days out for the kids in Hertfordshire & Bucks and struggling to find the usual half price discount vouchers etc.

Lets hope the weather is decent as there is always outdoors stuff free.

I know what you mean. My two are 13 and 15 (I also have an adult daughter). Children tend to be charged at a higher price these days, whereas when my daughter was small, she was often half price.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that when we went on holiday, my boys were charged at 60% of the adult price, with bigger discounts for younger children. It makes a change from paying adult prices.

I don't think everything should be half price for children just because of their age especialy at theme or other child centred places.

Smaller children who utilise rides etc. I can understand but often it's the parent who is more likely to not go on the ride than the child, yet they pay full price.

Holiday accomodation should be based on occupancy not age as should flights as over 2 they have the same seat as an adult.

Meal half price offers make sense as children usually eat less than adults.
