dodgy seller on FB.... paid by bank transfer, any help?

Options
hello all, hoping someone has some bright ideas. my sis in law has bought items from a seller on facebook, over £60 worth, 4 weeks have passed and the items still haven't arrived despite being told they were being posted that day etc, and contact with the seller is very sporadic at best. she also paid by bank transfer.

as far as i'm aware, there's not much she can do with regards to claiming the money back but thought i'd ask here in the hope that you clued up bunch may have a suggestion as to what to do next. thank you :)

With no address there is nothing at all you can do. Unfortunately these scams are rife on Facebook which is why so many selling groups warn against bank transfers for payment.

The scammers are beginning to move on from gum tree and any site where they can con people into paying by bank transfer is a site you will find them on.

I spoke to OP and got the relative details. Chancer using a blanket FB profile and not their own but managed to track the chancer down to two ebay accounts, real FB account and their address in Scarborough. A simple message or two and a bit of pressure :D applied and voila...:rotfl:
