I was given a parking charge notice today. I overstayed by an hour (by accident) I paid the remainder when I got back. My dental treatment took longer than anticipated. I have got proof I was at the dentist.

If a window sticker, wait till the NTK. Keep note of the dates etc and when the NTK arrives, send in one of the sift appeals on here to the PPC with the aim of getting a POPLA code and expecting it to be rejected by the PPC.

Then we spring into action with the real appeal to POPLA. But do use one of the soft appeals first and don't embellish it with any other details than recommended.

A Notice to Keeper has to meet certain criteria so read this in readiness:

The point of a soft appeal is just to get the POPLA code out of the scammers which is the second stage. If you take our advice on a long and strong POPLA appeal wording in due course, you will win and it will be cancelled at the POPLA stage. Read up on it, any threads recently about POPLA (there are loads).

What part of ''DO NOT SEND ANYTHING YET'' was unclear?!

It was never valid, have you missed the fact it's a scam, a fake PCN. Car colour is irrelevant on a FAKE parking ticket. Wait for the NTK and read the forum as you don't seem to have yet taken on board that this isn't a fine and you can have some fun getting it cancelled. Read other threads while you wait.

NOPE, it won't because POPLA appeals have a backlog (of course, as these fake PCNs are a scam and lots of people now realise it!). POPLA adjudicators take about 3 months to make a decision (which you WILL WIN if you follow our advice).

You can deal with the NTK on return from your holiday as they have to send it between 29 and 56 days after the incident. You will then have 28 days to send your soft challenge - then you need to wait for the rejection and POPLA code - so as long as you aren't away for a month you will have time to do the POPLA appeal then.

Relax and enjoy your holiday, you will not be paying this! It's just an annoying scam attempt like a phishing email which simply requires a bit more action to swat it away than just deleting!
