  • your 256bit card and your i5 turbo boost tech to 3.2ghz whilst under gaming load and 8gb memory is running the game smooth like it should. like i said older rigs like mine dont bother.
  • Only Upgraded to al this last year so will last me well for 4 years

    Gigabyte x79 UD3 mobo
16 GB Ram (can emeber the make)
    Interl X79 3820 CPU
    MSI Fronzer 111 GPU 660TI
    Consair 1000 Watt PSU
    2 x OCZ Vex 60GB SSD (Raid)
    Win 8
1 x 500 GB HDD For Musics, Phootos etc

Are you use you can run BF3 with everyone on full (including vsync) with that graphics card? It rates about the same, if not less than a 580GTX and i needed 2 of them to run BF3 on ultra everything.

Bought another gaming PC for much cheapness the other day there.

500GB Sata III Drive (16mb cache)
Midi case with 2 x 140mm fans and 1 x 120mm fans with Akasa sound proofing
    Coolermaster 750W PSU
    8GB DDR3 ram (can't remember make)
AMD Phenom II 955 3.2ghz quad core (will overclock to 3.9ghz on OEM cooler)
Asus Pro something motherboard with crossfire and SLI support
Radeon HIS 6850 1GB graphics card

    Bargain at £150

I think on stock speeds the 7950 has a slight edge, but its well know the 7950s overclock very well.

I have a friend who as just got a 780 its rather nice but doesn't feel a massive jump over my 7950, with that we was coming from a 580 so it makes sense.

I will wait longer before I up grade as the 7950 is doing everything perfectly.

Good site for checking cards performance here

    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

    Benchmarks of cards mentioned

    Radeon HD 7950 4,610

    GeForce GTX 660 Ti 4,694

    GeForce GTX 580 4,932

    GeForce GTX 780 7,908

I wouldn't take the benchmarks as perfect as its only one benchmark and not real world usage, ie the 7950 is overall better than the 580, they trade blows on benchmarks but the 7950 overclocks better and uses less power and generates less heat.

With that the 780 is epic and is more or less a titan at a much lower cost, I am looking forward to AMDs next cards and see what they come up with.
