Hi there
Stayed at my first house for 6 years and am currently in the procees of selling it, and buying another one. I wondered if anyone out there could re-assure me of my solicitor`s fees`....
I`ve been quoted by them as £805 for selling and £3,670 for buying (I realise £2499.99 of this is Stamp duty), does this seem reasonable? Also, this doesn`t include the survey required for the mortgage (which I think will be about £300 for a new build)
Thanks in advance for any help,
Cheers

Thanks, As I say I`ve only ever bought the house I live in which was a few years back so wasn`t sure if these costs were competitive. Thanks though, gives me a little peace of mind3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0

Seems reasonable. Assume £805 is only the legals, and your sol is billing separately for Estate Agency services, or you're using a separate EA?0

Selling to a friend, so private sell, no need for Estate Agents in this case. Kinda saved me alot of hassle, also it`s his first house so entry date is nice and flexible!3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0

Last time we moved, we paid £600 for the purchase (ex SDLT and a few minor disbursements that weren't included) and 0.7% for the sale (inc agency and legal fees, haggled down from 1%).
Your numbers don't sound unreasonable at all.0 -
Thanks for replies, glad I put this up on here now. I`ll sleep soundly tonight :j3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0
