Redundancy & the CSA

Sorry if I've missed a thread on this, couldn't find one...seems a really grey area on what the CSA or ex-wife can claim from someones redundancy. Has anyone got experience of this?
Hubby is currently going through redundancy (working notice) and his ex is particularly notorious for trying to claim as much as possble from him. (He pays not much less than £1k a month).
(Negotiation isn't an option, she hasn't spoken to him for 5 years).
