Help :( transferring balance to new 0% denied

Really hope someone can give me some helpful advice please?!
We currently have 2 0% credit cards (1 barclaycard and 1 halifax)with a small amount on each taken out to fund home improvement. I recently had a baby and unfortunately missed one payment date and payed it 1 day late as I was in hospital. Subsequently barclaycard have now withdrawn their 0% offer ( which I had no idea could happen
) and so we have tried to switch to a new 0% card. We have been given one with tesco but for only part of our balance amount. What can we do with remaining part that's left on the barclaycard that we are now paying interest for? Ideally we wud like to combine the remaining amount pn barclaucard with our other halifax credit card and switch to another 0%? BUT we applied for another card last night to do this and were rejected ? We have only ever paid late that one time and my other half has a good income so we don't know what our options are. Please help?
