Patisserie Valerie gift cards

Does anyone know the law around gift card expiry dates please?
I was given a gift card for Patisserie Valerie which says 'for terms and conditions see ...' and then gives a website address. The web page is pretty much blank, and gives no info about expiry dates at all. I raised an online query with them about the expiry date, and surprise surprise, never received a reply. There is no phone number or address for their head office on their website.
There is no expiry date or terms and conditions on either the card, or the cardboard it's attached to. When I rang the branch they were pretty unhelpful, and said 'it's on the flyer it's attached to' - no, it's not! Then they said 'well it's usually about six months'. So even they don't know.
The only reason I didn't use the card until now is because I've been on a weight loss diet. The card is just under six months old, and no-one can tell me when it expires.
Is it a breach of any law NOT to give details of the expiry? Any help anyone could give would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks

No, it's not against the law not to have an expiry date on it, but that means they can't then tell you it's expired.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

OP, have you had a problem when using the card?
Has it been refused?0 -
Hi peachyprice and wealdroam
no, they haven't refused it yet but I don't want to leave it any longer and then have it refused after ordering and eating food (I hate a scene of any kind), so that's why I wanted to find out what the date was, and if I had any longer left to go there. I'm more annoyed that they won't/can't tell me the expiry date, it seems almost a deliberate lack of transparency. They haven't answered the web-contact I raised, there's nothing on the card or backing card, and the shop 'don't know' what the average expiry date is apart from 'it's usually around 6 months'
Do you know if there's anything in the law that it states that if it doesn't show an expiry date, then it can't expire?
Thank you very much for your help0 -
If there's no date on it how are they going to tell when it was issued when you use it?
(Fair play to you though, I wouldn't be able to resist Patisserie Valerie for as long)
