default from virgin media

Options
I did my credit rating a few months ago . found out virgin media put a default against me. it started 21/02/2007, I rent a room privately from landlord for 4 months. during these 4 months because i was short term tenant so I didn't sign up for any utility bills. but I found there is a default under my name from virgin media, I have wrote letter to them but there is no response from them, its only £14 for it, but I don't want to pay something I never owned. I am going to buy house in next year, worry it still affect me, what should I do, is there any way to remove it?
if i pay it does it still affect my rating?

it will be 6 years in about 6 month, will this drop automatic

which is the best way to deal with it?

1) wait for 6 month until it drop itself
2) pay this amount -it will settle from next month? does it still affect for next 12 months
3) contact virgin media to remove? tried but no reply, how can i proof something I never signed for ,also its only 4 months ,how could I only own £14, their contracts are at least 12 months, they let me cancel after 4 months? don't think so .
don't know what they are thinking , no brains .....

You must have given Virgin Media your details at some point otherwise it would have been impossible for them to put information on your credit file.

What is the default date as it appears on your credit file?
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
  • I had an incorrect default from VM also,

To be fair to them when I emailed the below address they communicated with me every day to let me know of the progress and had it off my credit report quickly
