Post office credit card

If you make extra payments to your card (above the minimum) before the direct debit is due do they still take the direct debit?

i don't know, but i would Guess that, if the payment is early enough, it will reduce the DD.

the only card i have/have had that i Know doesn't operate that way is my Amex Cashback. Amex take the full payment regardless of other payments.....ive often maxed it, cleared it, maxed it, and then had the DD take the original payment, all in same month

you can call them and ask them, of course. that wouldnt be a question that would concern them...they Want You to spend on the card, of course.
  • I have checked my online statements but they are not very detailed. I guess I will find out soon enough. Thanks :)

Halifax and virgin do in fact I paid of the balance with Halifax and thay still took the DD which put me in credit
  • Just got my paper statement through today. Post office reduce your DD with the amount you pay by so if you pay more than the minimum they will not take the DD.
