Unfair jsa sanction leaving me without a penny?!

I had a job which I had been in for a few months, but I had been having talks with my old manager about getting my old job back. He said he was happy with everything and gave me a verbal job offer and it was agreed and arranged that I would start back at the company in a months time. I then gave my notice in at my job explaining I was moving area to go back to my old job. I was also on jsa as I was working under 16 hours a week and I informed my advisor of the news. So I was signed off. 2 days before I was due to move, the manager from the old company called me and said the job offer was no longer available. I ended up moving hoping there was something I could do, but to much prevail, I was unsuccessful so I had to sign on and I explained to them what had happen with the whole job situation. I received my money no problem, but then I had to move again due to no job still and not being able to pay my rent, so I made my claim on the 27th may, attended an interview on the 29th and had my sign on date on 10th June, expecting my money to be in on the 13th June. Now I checked my account and there was no money in there. So I went into my local Jobcentre and asked what was going on and they told me there was a sanction imposed on my account due to my last job ending, even though I had informed them of everything that had happened. What bugs me is that the woman I spoke to said the sanction was imposed on the 28th may, yet I was not informed on any occasion I attended the Jobcentre nor have I received a letter. So I've now had no money for 3 weeks and for probably much longer but they won't help me out. What can I do? I've sent in a hardship payment form but that could take up to another 2 weeks. I can't borrow any money from anybody, I'm seriously running out of food, and I'm getting really down about it. Please help anybody!

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. You could appeal it but when speaking with JC the other day my advisor said there are very little appeals won. Probably because its all done by JC themselves instead of independent copany.
I know how your feeling they previously sanctioned me and I had no money for 4 weeks until they admitted they did not know why I had been sanctioned.
Now I have just been hit with a 17 week sanction for not attending work programme interview that I did not know about and for not attending another appointment that JC authorised but cant find that on their system now.
like yourself I was not told or sent a letter telling me about sanction it was when I went to take money out that I found out.
You should consider going self employed.0 -
Just a couple of thoughts. The date the sanction was decided might not necessarily mean that it was all recorded and processed that day.
You actually made reference to receiving your money, no problem. So if there had been no 'block' on that payment then there was probably nothing on the system about it and therefore nothing to inform you about.
So on your attendances at the job centre, they may not have told you because there was nothing yet there. Even if it was on their system, maybe they have no reason to actually look for it if your being there was unrelated.
You make reference to moving and then moving again. So three addresses involved unless you moved back to the first one.
It's possible that a decision was sent to an address held but one which you had moved from.
Sorry...that's no solution just a possible explanation for the way it was handled.0 -
How are you managing rent and other living expenses, are you on your own?0

You haven't been sanctioned, your claim has been suspended while a possible sanction is investigated. They will write to the employer and then dependant on the reply you will be offered the opportunity to comment on what your ex employer has said, then a decision is made on whether to sanction you or not.
Have you applied for a hardship payment?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
