Two telegraphic transfer fees??

Hi All,
I have been looking at the final bill for my conveyancing... after having a good search on here it seems very common for your final bill to not resemble the initial quote in any way - even for a fixed fee quote. Anyhows - my conveyancers have itemised 2 telegraphic transfer fees (at a hefty £39 each).
My question why two?
I assume money goes from
My account==> conveyancers account (I pay for transfer)
mortgage lender==>conveyancers account (in the mortgage fees)
conveyancers account==> vendors solicitors account (I pay transfer fee in the conveyancing fees)
vendors solicitors account ==>Vendor (nothing to do with me)
There is no deposit etc - so why two (am I missing something here?)
I questioned the conveyancer about this and she said 'thats what the fees are'........:huh:
I'm surprised she didn't finish the statement with 'so there!'

* 10% deposit at Exchange of Contracts: conveyancers account==> vendors solicitors account (I pay transfer fee in the conveyancing fees)
* Balance of purchase price at Completion: conveyancers account==> vendors solicitors account (I pay transfer fee in the conveyancing fees)
* SDLT fee ==> HMRC following Completion
Just a guess. Or write to conveyancer and ask direct question.0 -
Thanks for your reply
Well I've just checked my emails and there is one from the conveyancers with a revised draft financial statement with 3x transfer fees now - So your reply makes sense.
With a minimum of three transfer fees it is not an insignificant cost to consider when deciding on a conveyancers.
It's getting very close to the exchange - I've asked her by email about it for an answer tmrw...I hope to transfer the monies into their account tmrw aswell.0
