Settled debt has now changed to default on credit file

Options
After a 3 year battle with GE money I had a remortgage belonging to my ex wife on her house changed from defaulted on my credit file and then changed to settled. I had help from my local MP in manchester to do this as I was associated with my ex wife in marriage. I have not seen my ex wife for 6 years and neither have my children who she abandoned 5 years ago after running off with them for 10 months without me knowing where they was. After 10 month I was given my children back when she dumped them and we never saw her again.
Today though I have received a letter from Capital recoveries debt collection chasing me for the remortgage again.
I checked my credit file straight away and the GE money credit agreement is back on my credit file as defaulted.
Can they do this?
Also does this default start again?
They remortgage defaulted on 30/02/2008 and this is stated on my file on equifax.
Will this drop off after 6 yr still or will this take another 6 years?
Please can anybody help with info. totally stressed out single parent dad again.

Was the mortgage in joint names? Did you take out the mortgage jointly? or sign to add yourself to her mortgage? or do you think she fraudulently added you to the account and forged your signature?

The debts of your financial associates do not appear on your credit file, only debts on which you are one of the account holders.

Never signed anything only a financial disassociation at the solicitors when she bought the house. GE money won't even discuss this with me as I'm not the account holder.
NO the house or mortgage was soley in my wife's name only.
