Options
My partner and I are trying to get a mortgage but due to an ex not paying a bill in my name I have 3 ccjs in my name which where taken against me 4 years ago all of which have been settled , how much longer will I have to wait ? also on a side note all though they are settled for at least 3 months the accounts show as open on my experian is there anything I can do to get them closed? as my bank say these need to be closed before I can try for mortgage. Thanks in advance for any advice.

They'll stay on your Credit File for 6 years whether they are settled or not.

To have them marked as settled/satisfied on your credit reports, you will have to provide the court with proof that they have been paid in full. Maybe by applying for a certificate of satisfaction. The court then updates the register, which in turn updates the credit reports.

Contact the court to see what you need to do.

If the CCJ was from 4 years ago, they will still be visible on credit reports for 2 years.

Priority for asmith78 is to get them marked as satisfied in the meantime.

they are marked as satisfied on my credit report just shown as open. will they eventually close the account them self or do you have to contact the company who took the judgement against you to tell them to close it?

Oh, you mean the credit accounts for the debts the CCJs resulted from? If so, then yes, you need to contact the creditors involved to get them to mark those as settled as well.
