Splitting BT on application

Applied for RBS to transfer a balance, filled in online the one card i wanted to BT. However the approved Limit at the end was lower than I'd request on the transfer..:o
Phoned up to ask 'what happens now', to be told I'd get a letter saying they couldn't do the transfer, and I'd have to wait till i phsically have the card to re-apply for BT - 7-10 working days :mad:

Asked out of interest, if I'd split the BT over say four entires with smaller amounts, would 3 have been accepted and the four declined, even though it was the same card, and was told YES.... Don't take that as Gospel, but I may consider it next time, as completing a BT 10 working days earlier can avoid quite abit of interest.
