I havent asked any supermarket! I would've emailed Lidl if they published an email address, but they don't - hmm, what address did needmoney use?
Judging by the Greenpeace link it looks like Lidl do sell own-brand GM products in UK as suspected.
As for others, Waitrose, Co-Op and Morrisons are the only UK ones who clearly state that none of their own-brand products are GM.
Aldi didnt look that good in the Greenpeace report.
Anyone have any definitive evidence in Lidls favour?
No need for vague links to Google search engine ken
I'll keep looking too....*************************

What have you got against Lidl in particular?
lol.paranoia! The company is well known for how they treat their staff, the food is as I stated.thought they might want to know this-as their question may have had an element of healthy interest as well as just gm interest. Its not a crime to express an opinion you know.Yes they pay well- but try finding people who have worked for the for any length of time who will say they are a good company...and no i dont and never have worked for them.Yes i do shop there sometimes,no their ethics dont bother ME.0 -

How am I paranoid? I'm not associated with Lidl.
I just thought that you could back up some of your opinions with facts.
Much of the food is a lot better quality than you'd find in Tesco or Asda. There are whole threads on these boards full of people raving about their chocolates, cooked meats or cheeses to name a few. In my book - their cooked ham containing no added water puts them well ahead of most of the supermarkets.
I know people who have worked there part time whilst at university. They're still working there, so I presume they can't treat their staff that badly considering the thousands of other jobs going in Manchester.
And if their ethics don't bother you, why bring it up?
And you see that huge key on the bottom of your keyboard? You need to hit it more often!0 -
Interesting article in the Telegraph about the increasing number of "middle class" (whatever that means) now shopping at Lidl as they have discovered the high quality and reasonable prices of their products..I reckon Lidl in the Uk could really score a few points by having an easy contact point to their head office (web site has none) and also come out about the GM issue and also ditching hydrogenated fats...The Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!0

Just like any other supermarket then.
Most supermarkets are working hard to remove hydrognated fats and some have it banned altogether (M+S) , i know for a fact Aldi has loads of products with it in even the bread you really have to look at the labels carefully.
Lots of info here

see the little box-its called google-try searching THAT more often-
Cheap - but not so cheerful
An article about Lidl in the guardian- and what a great employer they are.
Including a book compiled by Germanys largest Trade Union who felt the need to compile complaints about Lidls treatment of staff from 3,500 staff in 23 Countries-(not comments of anonymous people on a forum). Is that enough fact for you?
Er...yes..lovely ham though..But thats just our opinion...

Ooh, goody. Some lefty excuse for loo-roll ranting about how everyone can't afford to shop at Waitrose. I'm so sorry I can't be bothered to read it.0 -

Can't take what? Some bint, who can't punctuate and uses terms like "lol", who then takes weeks to find one article in The Guardian criticising a company making their staff work for their money?
I notice that you still haven't given any evidence of your first point that "their food is chocka with hydrogenated fats and additives".
And, no, I'm not in a trade union.
EDIT: !!!!!!, I shouldn't use my girlfriend's computer.0
