Bankruptcy and defaults 6 years on

A question. Has anyone had any experience with bankruptcy and defaults dropping off credit files?
Mine are due to come off this weekend as the 6 years have passed. My bankruptcy has already come off early for some reason with Equifax (removed a few weeks early!). When I spoke to them today about defaults coming off I have been advised it can take around 7 working days for them to remove and to contact them after if still not removed. Why is this?! My partner and I are due to apply for a mortgage next week and thought things would have gone from my file.
The upside is I have since spoken to Experian and they have said it will definitely all be removed the next day after the 6 year anniversary. I have googled and it looks like the bank we will be applying with use Experian.
I am however slightly annoyed with Equifax taking their time to remove defaults after the anniversary date. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this. Even the guy from Experian could not see why they need to take their time removing them as systems update daily.

To put it bluntly, because Equifax and their systems are bloomin useless.
Not a fan of any of them, but at least the other two CRAs have automated systems in place to make sure the entries come off on time.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

That is good to hear the other 2 behave themselves. I just kept saying to the lady in Equifax why do I have to wait 7 working days?! The 6 years would have already passed. Grrrrrr.0

You have a point but to be fair you've waited six years already, what's another few days on top?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

i worked for equifax's data centre in clydebank for over 8 years and i can confirm their systems are terrible. i assume they have progressed in the last ten years since i left but i doubt it.Starting Debt - £44,667.64 :mad:DAS Started Jun 09 - Debt Free May 2018 :T0

After my 6 years past BR, I found about half the records left automatically. The remainder have taken months and months of registered letters to all and sundry.
A total mess.0 -
I think that is awful. We are relying on CRA's to provide correct information! One day over is too much IMO...0
