Replacing hot water cylinder - £500 to install?

Hi.

Asking for a friend up in Cheshire..

He's had a quote for £500 fitting the following (he's already bought it)

Heatrae Sadia Megaflo Eco 210DD Direct Unvented Hot Water Cylinder - 210 Litre

Does £500 seem reasonable?

    Not really enough detail there for an informed answer. Is it a like for like replacement, does it replace an existing vented cylinder or is it a new install?

    Ah, it's a straight replacement.

    The old one (a different make) 'blew up' (his words, not mine!), so they've gone out and bought a replacement, and have been quoted £500 to fit it.

    Seems way too expensive then, even with a bit of pipework jiggery pokery I can't see it taking more that a day. But then I haven't seen the job . . . ! ;)

    Sounds reasonable to me

    A days work plus materials. 22mm copper tube £6 per M ...can easily be a few hundred to pipe

    I would say £350 is a fair price, seen as its only a direct model. But that said, site conditions will have to be take in account
