Npower energy saving improvements

I have just had a phone call from my landlady who has recommended to me that I look into the Energy Saving Improvement scheme that NPower do.

We have rented from her for about 6/7 years now and in that time we have had about 6 or 7 boiler call outs to British Gas to come and fix the boiler which is about 10/15 years old.
The last few times British Gas said they would not fix the problem as the system was sludged up and needed a power flush (the system had been treated by a family friend and de sludged) but British Gas still would not fix any problems with the boiler even after it came close to exploding because they hadn't fixed the previous problem properly. The landlady agreed too the power flush and the system has been fine now for about 6 months.

She has asked me to contact NPower too see if we qualify for this energy saving improvement scheme. I think partly to try and get a new boiler put in and anything else that we could get.

I'm happy to do this as if it saves me money then I'm all for it, the only issue I have is that I dont want to change my gas and electricity supplier having only just moved to British Gas to make savings from our last supplier.

My question is will NPower demand that I switch supply to them in return for getting on the scheme or will they still carry out any improvements without me switching. I mean everything for free no catches sorry find this hard to believe.
