Slowly pulling all the pieces together, I have now got my shower head and need to choose the wall valve bits.. Which brands are reliably good and what should I look for besides 'how pretty they are'

6 years ago I bought the cheapest manual valve that Screwfix sell (a "Swirl" model that cost under £40 at the time) and it is still going strong and has never had an issue.
My wife's last house was a newbuild and came with a Triton "Dart 2" valve - the cartridge was replaced twice under warranty, twice privately (at something like £200 per time) and was knackered again when she sold the house at 5 years old...0 -
Hi Again
assuming your using it with the ingot style shower head you will need a shower valve & a divertor to switch between the two options or a shower valve with an inbuilt divertor. Bristan, Vado Or Deva are all reasonable mid range manufacturers of these.

To put three options in the most cost effective way is to use a seperate 3 way divertor as per the link and plumb this in after the shower valve so that you have two controls on the wall the actual shower valve to control flow and temperature then your divertor to select the outlet. If you have any question please feel free to give me a shout
Kind Regards
