network assistant

Hi - I have two pcs linked by a wireless router.
one runs on vista and the other on xp
both are desktops.
I have today tried using Dell network assistant and although they can see each other ( I think), they will not see printerss that are linked to the other machine - even though I have shared them - any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated

thanks

m

Have you got drivers for both printers installed on both machines?

Install the drivers first and then use the setup routine to locate the printers.

See File and Printer Sharing in Windows Vista, which also tells you about using Vista with XP and there's a further link to printer sharing.

also try and disable your firewall temporarily...sometimes firewalls can block the other pc from accessing the printer...once you can the see the printers from both machines...enable the firewall..it will ask you if you want to give access to the printer...say yes...
