hi,
Due to moving in to a house with my partner we recently bought a fridge from currys @ £450, as we gave them 2 weeks notice it was free delivery but also as we wanted it a sunday we had to pay £2.99 for that...but when it came to that sunday we had waited all day and when it got to 4:30pm we gave them a call and a women said it would be there before 5pm, it got to 5:15pm and gave them another call and they said they had no fridge for our address and didn't even recognise the ref: number. After a long argumentative phone we had to arrange for the fridge to be delivered on the next Tuesday afternoon which led to me being forced to take half day with loss of pay.
After to complaining emails they said they would give us a £20 voucher, which I think is disgusting...what do you guys think ?

Clearly you have decided that £20 is not the right level of compensation for your losses.
You will need to quantify your losses and stick a claim in.
And of course you should expect a refund of that £2.99 Sunday delivery charge too.0 -
thanks for the link, I have replyed using the template0

See you next Tuesday certainly sums them up...0

How come you didn't opt for it to be delivered on your next day off instead of it being a work day?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Perhaps they had disposed of their old fridge on Saturday in anticipation of the agreed delivery on Sunday, and when that didn't happen they didn't want a house full of rotting meat and festering milk any longer than necessary - it is summer after all (allegedly).0 -

Perhaps but i think pinkshoes point was mitigation of loss.
Just because you suffer a loss through a breach of contract doesnt entitle you to claim for it. Losses must be reasonable and you're unlikely to be awarded any amount that could have been avoided by taking reasonable care. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

both me and my partner work six days a week so we would have to have waited till the next sunday, which would've led to going to shop 3 or 4 times that week to keep topping for food, whilst still trying to move other stuff from 3 different house's, hence the reason for paying extra to have it delivered on the day in speaking.
i'm not asking for anymore extra or £500 in compo, I just want them to pay for loss of earnings and don't want to have to spend it in there shop0 -
Hi, I just received a phone call from currys in reply to my last email where I said I would open a small claims case, they said they stand by decision to give me nothing due to having a 7-day-aweek delivery service (which I do appreciate) but did go on to explain to basically what I said in my last post, basically the ball is back in my court, what do you guys think ?
I was going to say to them that I was going to write about this in every forum going and go to there store to kick up hell but thought I might get into some kind of slander trouble0 -
slander only applies if what you are saying isn't true but I'd not be wasting any time going to their shop
as for your next step...I'd say written LBA followed by MCOL if they don't play ball0
