Does anyone know if there is a petition/site which deals with holiday companies who extortionatley hike up prices for uk hols when the kids are off? EG uk camping 21 May £3.00 per night, as it's term timethe school hols ie 25 May £57 per night!!! People power seems to be working with the 0870 number problem (I've just cancelled a 7 year account with a catalogue as they refused to answer my question on a geographical number rather than the 0870 number) and was hoping the same could be achieved with uk holiday companies.

Easter next year will confuse them because many schools are doing different Holidays.

Unfortunately it is a case of supply and demand. In school holidays the demand surges, so the prices do as well. Same with the lo-cost airlines, not just holiday comapnies.

I'm not defending them, as I guess some of it is profiteering. Unfortunately I don't think people power will change it, an 0870 number or bank charges are just blatant money making, whereas this is related to market forces.

Same reason that grapes are very expensive at supermarkets at certain times of the year, when they are out of season they are harder to get hold of so the price reflects this.
