Need some more advice !! :)

Hello everyone

I posted on here yesterday about the fact Im trying to find about reclaiming my hubby's PPI on his credit card.

I had a word with him last nite about looking out a recent statment and he had now told me he cancelled the PIP when he noticed it on his statement.

But he was paying for it a while before he noticed and he say he has the card for quite a few years.

I have no PPI number as he cancelled it and looking for old paperwork would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

My question is can I request a SAR for my hubbys account information, even though account is still active.

Also I have noticed there is a charge but Ive heart £1 or £10. Is it worth going for £10, for more information.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Any sample SAR letters I can use :):):):)

He can request a SAR yes. The SAR will give you all the information there is. It won't necessarily tell you when or how the PPI was sold.

If you ask for the T&Cs, be prepared for your husbands credit limit to go down because this is a common trick used by people who try to make thier CC debt unenforceable, he will have to sign a new agreement or reassure them that he intends to pay his debt if they do this.

You don't need a PPI number, you need an account number.

You only need the card number and reasons for mis sell
    You can send a Sar

Ask for all information they hold, not just specific items, the cost is £10 and give them 40 days to respond

    Hi :)

Thanks for all the helpful information. I will speak to my hubby regarding it and see what he wants to do.

He would be more than willing to sign a new agreement.

I take it his credit score will go down regardless though ie even if he signs a new agreement it will still go down, is this right ?

    :)

    Another thought...

It might be worth just putting in a letter to the bank asking for PPI refund with account number and stating reason for mis-sell.

That wouldnt affect his credit score would it

You're better off sending the SAR and £10 and not asking for the credit agreement.

There really is no point in doing this at all, the agreement will not help your complaint in any way.

Forget all about credit scores and credit limits, this only affects a very few people who request terms and conditions otherwise the MSE article would not suggest it as a cheap way of finding out account details.

Best advice is to follow the instructions at post#3 of the thread, you'll then be armed with everything the Bank has kept on file for you for at least six years and (sometimes) more.
