Broken hearted there is a phrase 'walk a mile in my shoes before you judge me'
There are many people who would welcome walking in your shoes which would enable them to be able to pay off their debts without having to go down the bankruptcy route but unfortunately they cant.
The people on this forum including myself do not see this as an easy option.
You obviously have nothing better to do - which is a bit sad really - may i suggest that you go off and do something more constructive which should include taking that chip off your shoulder!'What is right for one soul may not be right for another. It may mean having to stand on your ownand do something strange in the eyes of others. But do not be daunted,do whatever it is because you know within it is right for you.''Eileen Caddy'BSC: No: 790 -

Broken hearted,
I don't think there have been many people as vociferous in the defence of bankrupts as I've been. With the odd exception, it's a heart wrenching experience for all concerned and places a huge strain on people and their relationships, so you know, I'll never agree with the position you take on the subject.
However, as any amateur scientist will testify, "for every force in nature, there is an equal and opposite force" and I think this probably explains why you say the things you do. I imagine that you make an awful lot of sacrifices to be able to reapy your debt, you probably lead a lonely and uncomfortable life, and you look at us being able to "escape" the same burdens that so blight your life.
I honestly believe that deep down you would dearly love to be able to do the same. You're probably older than most of us and you've been brought up with a different standard of morals, and not better ones I hasten to add. You're caught between a rock and a hard place (excuse the Americanism) that's making you an unpleasant person to have around.
I would urge you to reconsider your options and allow yourself to enjoy the rest of your life in a good deal more comfort than you're enjoying at the moment. I know you're not looking for sympathy or understanding but I'm fairly certain that I understand and absolutely certain that I sympathise.
Yours sincerely,
Richard0 -

I don't agree with bankruptsy in most cases as there are ways around it even if it takes decades to clear the debt. I understand life isn't always fair and it's often very hard.
So in short I'm sorry if anyone is upset but I havn't changed my mind. Time to agree to disagree.
Just read your sig
Well done for reducing your debts so far! It just shows it can be doneDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
