Router Halp Needed

I hope I can explain this so someone else can understand what I am getting at.
Right here goes

I have broadband via ntl/virgin...I currently have a wired router which serves 3 pc's in my house which all work fine.My Daughter has just purchased a laptop which she asked can I get a wirless router for so she can use anywhere she wants in the house and not be limited to a wire that I could run into her bedroom. The router I am using at the moment has a spare port in so can I if I purchased a wireless router plug this into the wired router in the spare port thus giving wireless and wired routers running together.
I hope this makes sense.
thanks in advance for any help
