Received Offer from RBS but it looks low - what should I do?

Hi,
I have put through my first ever PPI claim and got back a goodwill offer from RBS of £1911. Which is based on PPI payments I made over 16 years (1993-2009) they say were £955. The trouble is I don't have all the statements but the ones I do (for the end of the period I had the card) were for amounts such as £38 a month - In fact the 4 statements I have covering 4 months total £130 in PPI payments alone so I'm surprised that in 16 years I only paid £955 but frankly I don't know.
So I am not sure if I should go back to them and state that, ask for the statements to check (would I have to pay?) or just except the offer in case they retract it.
Has anyone else had an "offer" like this or challenged one and been successful ?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Des

Plenty of people receive "goodwill" offers, it means the Bank hasn't actually upheld your complaint but is prepared to offer you a payment regardless.Has anyone else had an "offer" like this or challenged one and been successful ?
You can reject the offer and refer it to FOS, but the Ombudsman process takes in excess of a year and there are no guarantees that they will rule in your favour.
