Hi
I have 2 defaults on my credit file, if I pay these off in full can these be cleared off my credit file, I am looking at getting a mortgage next year and I hear that these stay on your file for 6 years even if settled, is there a way round this please?
Thanks

Nope, no way to remove them before the six years unless they were recorded incorrectly and you have evidence to that effect.0

What MEM62 said, and rightly so.
Paying them off marks them as 'satisfied', which looks a lot better to prospective lenders. But you will still be identified as a massive risk.0 -

No, there isn't.
Else, what would be the point of credit files?0 -

If only it was that easy then many people would just default if they're struggling and when they want something like mortgage they pay them.
They will stay on your file for 6 years wether they are paid or not but the debt will still stand unless its statue barred."You know when it's cold outside when you go outside and it's cold"0
