I believe eBay will remove a negative feedback IF the buyer leaves it without paying for the item.

[I haven't actually experienced this situation personally though - perhaps a seasoned eBay seller can confirm?]

Feedback is removed if a seller completes a full NPB without buyer paying. However, seller would need to open a case and the fact that buyer has asked for a total may make this slightly more complicated.

Also, I am concerned that OP says they cancelled the winning bod, which is of course impossible, and I'm wondering if they mean they sent a mutual cancellation. perhaps the OP could clarify.

Saying UK only is not enough - was it blocked in preferences?

If so its a glitch or buyer as registered on UK ebay to get round the block.

In such a case - Ebay SHOULD remove the neg.

If you requested a cancellation with buyer - you cannot then file a NPB.

You could perhaps have quoted £500 to post it to Australia and asked him if he would like to go ahead or to cancel. :D

once the buyer requested a total i went into open a unpaid item/cancel transaction and ticked do not post to the country

i normally have it set up so no one from abroad can bid on my item so not sure how he managed to place a bid and win....

Unless you have added all countries other than the UK to your exclusion list, non-UK bidders can still bid on your items.

You can set your exclusions much tighter than that BTW.

Instead of the 'within 1 month' criteria for unpaid and policy breaches make it one year. Always have the smallest number of issues over the longest period allowed, it catches a lot more time wasters.

Also, and someone may well correct me here, the cancellation because buyer is in a country I don't ship to category is still a mutual. If that is the case make sure you watch your dispute console to ensure to closes in your favour . Buyer can also leave feedback as well.

  • I recently has a similar problem, buyer registered in the UK buys 5 items, then requests shipping to Thailand, okay he has good feedback so I messaged him that I will post to Thailand but only if his address in Thailand is confirmed on his PayPal payment. He pays & the name & address on the PayPal account are in the UK, he sends a message 'I pay, you sent to xxxxxx Thailand' I refunded him & asked eBay chat for advice, they said open a case to cancel the transactions, fast forward to the last minute of the 7 days wait & he denied the cancellations !! back to eBay chat & they refunded my selling fee's 'as a courtesy' refund they said. Now waiting for 5 negative feedbacks !! total sale price of 5 items less than £20. eBay chat were no help, courteous yes but I couldn't make them understand my problem. Its put me off selling on there now. I only post in the UK as well and have all my setting correct for UK only buyers.
