Partly organised. I got my wrapping paper and cards at the end of last Xmas and have been keeping an eye out for bargains.

On the freebies section on this website I got some earrings, it was just a matter of paying p/p which I think was like £1.50. The earrings retailed at £25.

Last year I did a lot of it in July/August as ordered some bday pressies and decided to order xmas pressies at the same time, then got xmas pressies sent off back to Australia in September.

Though got our 1st baby due at the end of September so that's been a much bigger priority than xmas, hahaha.

  • Ive been buying bits and pieces since last Christmas lol but am nowhere near finished! I only have 3 main presents and parts of others. (Im doing a lot of gift baskets) But i do have loads of stocking fillers, I fill 14 stockings altogether so quite a lot of stuff! I also bought some christmas napkins, paper plates etc for the little get together I have at christmas for my family. x

Hi Pixie, how about simply starting with writing a list? People you need to buy for, how much you wanna spend, and work out how your gonna cover the cost, maybe start buying stuff now if you see it of offer. Organisation is the key, and i find writing a list helps you see exactly what you need to do :D

I also need to take my own advice and sort my own list out :rotfl:

Started making hooded towels for each of our 10 grandchildren. They will be personalized to their interest, Little Alien for 1 grandson, Ninjas for 2 boys etc. also saving in a pot for gifts. I have no idea how much I have saved but I am sure I am well on target. Can't count it as I would need to smash the pot, £3.99 from B&M in January.

I havent really started yet - after having my little girl and my sister in law having her baby the month of July takes a bit of a hammering with birthdays - we have 7 birthdays this month - ranging from 29 years to 1 year old, so I tend to start in September now once the kids have gone back (and my little girl will start school for 2 hours a day) but I have been making a list ready and I think this year I might do a few homemade gifts for some family members

Food wise - I haven't started but I think I will start getting food stamps ready for it as I get double discount nearer to christmas :D and we dont tend to buy anything really different at christmas
    Time to find me again
  • I have my list of things to do and buy written. So far I have bought and wrapped 16 of the 26 gifts I had to buy. I must buy a new Christmas tree this year since the last one had an accident caused by my mischievous cat last December. Going to take the opportunity to buy new tree decorations when shops begin to start stocking them.

Half of my Christmas cards are written, the rest will be done within the next month. Food shopping and baking etc will wait until December. I tend to make homemade food hamper baskets for the elder members of my family instead of typical gifts, those also wait until December. The Christmas dinner will be at my sisters home but I will take a dessert and some drinks, also to be purchased and made in December.

Anything I can do early I tend to do as a rule. Makes it all a little less stressful and more fun for me. Plus I love the organising and sorting just as much as the actual day lol. :xmassmile
